DEAD CROW- By A. Samad Said.

The poem 'The Dead Crow' is about what has happened to our environment due to neglect and abuse by Man. The poet voices his anger about what we have done to our environment. It is mentioned clearly about the victims of pollution are old man, a baby and a crow.

The poem deals with pollution and the environment. Environmental problems and pollution are happening everywhere, everyday. The pesona notices that a crow is dead  in the drain. “an old man is gasping for air’, a baby having difficulty in breathing, and a crowded clinic. The environment is a threat to animals and people. The persona is fearful that the air would no longer clean, forests would be destroyed, rivers being polluted and cannot flow freely, trees are not allowed t grow and are felled, and the earth is no longer green. The persona is worried that there would be nothing left for the next generations to appreciate the beauty of nature if the damage to the environment continues.

In my personal opinion, saving our Earth is indeed everyone’s responsibility. Through the poem, people should aware of the consequences of the pollution towards the Earth.  We are all educated. Be nice to Our Mother Nature or we will be punished one day.
