HE HAD SUCH QUIET EYES By Bibsy Soenharjo

HE HAD SUCH QUIET EYES By Bibsy Soenharjo
The poet relates the story of a woman who fall in love by a man who has ‘quiet eyes’. He looks harmless and gentle to her so she does not suspect that he would lie to her in order to manipulate her into doing exactly what he want to.
Her parents advise her to be careful with the man. she refuses to listen to their advice and walks away in anger. The woman gives herself to the man as she believes that she he is truly loves her. Finally, she found out that the man is a liar and cheat. After he gets his pleasure with her, he leaves her.
She finally realized that her parents and friends are right and she has made a big mistake and decision.
In my personal opinion, this poem is likely to tell girls to be careful about man in relationships.  The man may just want to please himself by using her in order to keep away from loneliness and sadness. Girls really have to be careful when dealing in the relationships. Actually not only girls but also man. in this poem, the man cheated the woman, however, there is also real life situation that man being cheated by woman. Normally, it deals with money and sex. So not only girls or woman need to be aware of the liar, man as well. No matter what it is, both man and woman need to be very careful when dealing in love and relationships.
